  The plate arrived today, so very promptly. Despite being well padded in the packaging, the broken chunk had still come adrift from the main part of the plate, and was rattling around in the parcel. However , in the long term it may be no bad thing, as it has allowed me to scratch off most of the old discoloured glue from the surface, with the help of nail polish remover. This will help me to make a new neater mend with superglue. The discoloured blue surface in the photo has been corrected.
