Pretty good value at around a quarter of the average cost for a Tascam DA-P1, working or not. This one displayed symptoms of loading belt failure, and a thankfully easy repair, ie any elastic band of around 15/16th inch diameter ( eg orthodontic ) will do the job, since it does not have to be "Precision Ground".

Forgot to mention that Orthodontic Bands have a distinct tendency to get thrown off if the machine they're installed in is not used for "a while". This is due, apparently, to the fact that they are cut from a tube, causing an inconsistent travel that will tend to catch the edge of the wheel groove. Likely an applied amount of chalk dust or Talcum Powder, prior to fitting the band, will help prevent this effect.

Crammed with high quality information

This is exactly as it says ! Informative and covering a broad range of world wide products. This is for the trade and collector alike and is the kind of reference book that will be referred to frequently for years. Colour photos would be a bonus and a few of the pictures could have done with being better lit and a little bit crisper. But I guess some were old and you have to work with what is available, especially for locks long out of production. I am very very pleased with my copy and expect this will be the finding for many people buying this book.
