Some added fun in the hot tub
While I can soak for an hour or more in the hot tub, I got this floating set to enjoy a good game of chess with family members. It floats as advertised, individual pieces are magnetized so they don't slide off the board even if a "wave" hits it and individual pieces float...handy for when you eliminate the other guys pieces the conquered ones fit in recesses built into the sides. In the event of a BIG wave, the conquered pieces float, don't sink to the bottom.
My only minor concern is having to get used to a flat image painted on each piece for king, queen, pawn etc. Having gotten used to 3D pieces that are easy to distinguish, you have to pay a bit more attention to which piece is which. Minor point...the overall set is wonderful and highly recommended. We leave the pieces magnetized in startup position and lean the board agains side of hot tub for next game. Other side of board is illustrated for backgammon and there are extra individual pieces for that game, but we've not used them...chess is our game of choice and it is a cool experience while getting bubbled in 98 deg. water!!!
