Good basic reference for beginner and more experienced aquarist alike.
A mainstream book catering for a mainstream audience. The author explains the basic principles of aquatic ecology, relating them to the role of aquatic plants in a way that is easily understandable to the layman. The plant reference section is far from definitive but, nonetheless, perfectly adequate for most hobbyists. Until someone else comes up with a more comprehensive and scientifically sophisticated guide; this book, although out of print, remains the one to buy.
