Bought this product to save time instead of replacing original pull start string on my stihl ts400. Unfortunately I had to disassemble and fix recoil

Bought this product to save time instead of replacing original pull start string on my stihl ts400. Unfortunately I had to disassemble and fix recoil spring as it was bent before first use and not enough tension to stop it slipping off again. After fixing this it solved the problem however I could have just bought a replacement string instead of all this effort to get a new part to work.
