Consider this before buying a dedicated Video rig.
I bought this as an alternative to a Video DSLR hand-held rig, and it excels in this capacity. One leg over your shoulder and one leg for each hand makes this an exceptionally robust option for "run'n'gun" videographers. Add to that its ability to act as a table-top tripod, clamp, or anything else you can think of, and its basically an essential piece of equipment for anyone who owns anything that needs to be affixed in a place or offer an unwieldy item some form of accessible ergonomic. I use it in conjunction with a MotionNine Cube Cage and a Arca-swiss nodal rail so that I can have natural center of balance for longer lenses while its mounted on a head. Its very well made, solid, simple and the head if you opt to get it, is very nice indeed. I have some high end RRS and Acratech equipment and I will say that this small ball head is capable of handling a lot of what they are capable of handling also.

Zoom F8 Multi-Track Field Recorder ZF8 Digital Production TV Location Sound

More than a step up from hand-held recorders
I have owned quite a few hand held recorders and basically they are pretty much all the same with exception to Sony PCM-D50 and the Nagra SD which are basically shaped by their microphones, and they are priced accordingly. The Sony has been replaced by the PCM-D100 which is even clearer sounding. The Zoom F8 is quite a jump from sub $500 4 & 6 channel recorders in that the array of high end professional options are considerable. There are a lot of options in this machine, routing, file formatting dual cards etc etc,. In terms of sound, well it depends on your level of expectation and the microphones you have. Put it this way the Zoom F8 gives you the opportunity to hear your microphones at the quality level they were made to. Good mics sound like broadcast quality. Im not tech oriented, I am a hobby field recordist with a bunch of high end microphones and I like to record social, nature & industrial sounds using up 8 mic's at a time.

Simple Facial Wipes Exfoliating 25 ct FREE SHIPPING

Great for travel
Great for travel especially in hot climates. Really exfoliates very well and applies moisturization as well. Id highly recommend this for anyone who is working in the field and usually far away from facilities. Its probably an after thought to bring something like this, but once youve been in a situation far from home for a few days, etc and have a pack in your supplies, you will never think about not having something like this with you again. The exfoliating version is exceptional.
