Perfect for decorative feature
I've used this a small embellishment on a greetings card, or decorative feature on a bag or key ring. The tassel is just the right size to be in good proportion to the item being made.

A way of cooking rather than a cookery book
This book is like marmite - you love it or you hate it. Rather than a collection of recipes, it is a way of cooking in a laid-back manner. The food is Mediterranean-based with lots of olive oil so don't expect traditional English fare. However, having said that, it fits in fairly well with the kind of thing we usually eat. There are a few recipes and lots of ways to cook stuff you wouldn't ordinarily use (like broccoli stalks on toast!! She somehow tweaks it to make it seem gourmet)
I usually stick rigidly to recipes and wanted to get out of that habit and be able to use up the stuff I'd find in the fridge, and the book works very well for that. I feel much happier making a meal on the spur of the moment now. The author also helps you with understanding which fats, spices, groupings of foods are likely to taste well together.
I love the way it's written: as if you are sitting chatting with the author and she's telling you how she does it and occasionally throwing out an actual recipe, and at other times saying things like - and this is not an actual quote - 'just take some tomatoes and peppers and crack an egg on top and cook it' (no specific amounts but you get the idea of what she does).
I loved the book and it fulfilled what I wanted. However, if you're looking for a cookery book with recipes I think you'll be disappointed.
