Yale Floor Safe - 4L capacity

An almost perfect floor safe.
Great solid safe. Was surprised how solid, heavy and large it is for the price. It has a nice locking mechanism too. A great purchase. There is one design floor though with this in my opinion. You have to rely on the key to lift the heavy door plate and it feels that it is only a matter of time before either the key or the lock will be damaged by lifting with it. My solution (see photo) was a thin fabric lanyard attached to an underside bolt head. The fabric is thin and goes in between the gap and won't be seen under a carpet etc. I do think Yale should consider adding something like this.

Improvement on the old
A big improvement on the old ones. The rail now doesn't slide and they are backward compatible with the old fashioned wall brackets.

Good stuff but probably best suited for ...
Good stuff but probably best suited for a stove that actually gets hot as putting it on my old unused fireplace always left black marks even after polishing. In the end I used a matte black paint.
