A great quality product for the money
Considering the amount of money you can spend on a professional studio microphone, this is excellent value. Although it not switchable in terms of polar patterns, Cardioid is the only one you need for recording vocals or acoustic instruments. The NT1A is considered to be the worlds quietest microphone, practically no ambient noise at all.

A sturdy and very good quality product, and nicely designed with plenty of space.
Very well made and does exactly what I need it to do. Although described as large, it fits nicely into a corner without taking up much space at all. Easy to assemble as long as you follow the step by step diagrams, the only drawback is that that I needed to use a shorter stubby screwdriver to fit in a couple of places, so worth bearing in mind but otherwise worth the money

Panasonic DMR-BWT720 is a full featured machine that does everything
One of the last machines built by Panasonic that does everything. Good for todays technology and can be used with legacy equipment that uses SCART. The only negative is that you can't record straight to DVD or Bluray disc from an external source. You have to record to HDD first then burn to disc. but to be honest it is not really a problem. This machine predates 4K but standard HD 1080P is crisp and if you have a modern 4k LED TV the TV will upscale to 4K
