A Lens for Life!
If you're looking at this lens you probably have already read all the superlatives about it, so I'll keep it brief! It's a beautifully crafted item, the focus ring is super smooth with just the right amount of resistance, the aperture ring clicks beautifully and you can use it in clickless mode for shooting video, which I don't. Yes, it weighs a bit; there's a lot of glass and metal, but on my Pen-F with grip it feels great and well balanced. It renders beautiful images that have a great feel to them. If your thing is bokeh and want tight dof this is your baby. This is a lens that demands I take it out and make pictures. Downsides? I can't fit it and the Pen-F in a large jacket pocket like I can the Oly 17mm f1.8 (which until now has been my most used lens) and being a manual lens there's no data transmitted to the camera so no aperture info etc. Some lenses you own, others you have a relationship with; this is such a lens. I expect to have it for a very long time!

Pocket Sized Lens
1 of 1 found this helpful Terrific little lens, sharp, lightweight and tiny. Ideal walkabout lens. I use it with my Olympus E-PL5 paired with the Panasonic 35-100 as a pocket sized system that lives in the car and always available. Great value for money.

Second Time Around
This is the second time I’ve bought this lens; it’s a long story. It’s an outstanding lens, fast, bright and sharp and produces beautiful images. The combination of this lens with the 12-40 f2.8 and my E-M1 Mk iii provides a relatively light weight kit that I can easily carry anywhere. Add the 2x teleconverter and you have the equivalent FOV of a 300mm full frame lens at a fraction of the cost and weight. This glass does everything right!
