Another one off the wish list
Roundhouse kits of this sort aren't made any more, so I rely on ebay or other second hand sources for them. The kits are made of mixed materials, some components of cast metal and others plastic. The body parts are nicely finished; pre-painted and silk-screen printed with authentic railroad lettering of the period in a variety of colours.
The metal parts require cleaning, usually with a file and painting. Assembly takes about an hour, apart from letting the paint dry, and needs screwdriver and cement.
A good product; recommended.

Nice model, a little more than expected.
I bought this model hoping to save a little time, as usually I build from scratch. It is a nice model, cleanly moulded and well detailed, and very easily assembled. However it isn't a true scale model - the body panels are longer than they should be, having been stretched to accommodate a standard chassis moulding. Normally this wouldn't matter very much, but it will be used with a rake of Glyn Valley Tramway carriages which are the correct length, and the discrepancy will be quite noticeable. Fortunately the vehicle's design will allow for easy modification.
In every respect bar the above it is a nice little kit, and well recommended.

Another item off the wish list
This model is one I've been hoping to find for a long while. They aren't common in England; this is the first one I've seen to buy in over forty years.
Although slightly used the model is in excellent condition and runs very nicely - I collect old model trains but still want them to work reliably. Physically the bodywork is as good as new, with no missing or damaged parts and the price asked was very reasonable for this kind of model.
Oddly I've been unable to find out anything about the original locomotive on Wikipedia, so don't know if it still exists.
A very happy purchase - one that I 'just happened' upon and am glad that I did.
