Product Works
The product does actually work, sending the water milky. However the fish seem unaffected by it and happily feed after application.
From experience a second application maybe necessary.

Installation of light
The light is obviously intended for suspended ceiling installation, and is not quite so easy to install on flat domestic ceilings. I have installed in hallway of bungalow which permits good access to area above light, if you do not have full access above do not consider flush installation. It is necessary to design your own suspension system. Disappointingly the light does bow slightly using the four corner hangers, they should be in a position along sides of light to prevent this (design fault)
The starter module does get warm in operation, I consider it needs to be in a ventilated position and not be buried in loft insulation.
In operation the unit does give a nice bright but cool light, much better than I anticipated.
In summary, a good product but be prepared for some messing about when installing flat on ceiling. Flat installation requires that you have excellent access to ceiling above light.
