My herbal bible
I bought this copy as a Christmas gift for a friend who is interested in herbalism. I have my own well-thumbed copy which I find invaluable and comprehensive. I understand the author took fifteen years to compile it. The effort was well worth the end result.

Anew look at useful plants
It contains many unexpected remedies from overlooked wild plants, classified as 'weeds'. Ironically the word 'weed' originally meant a poisonous or medicinal plant. I'm reassured to see the 'old' wisdom is stil being preserved. My only disappointment was that there are no illustrations whatsoever. I regard thiese as an essential part of the available information for any plant identification compilation.

Still dazzled
I have mild cataracts. This means very bright lights emit a pronounced halo. Probably not much you can do but it'd be really valuable if the government banned L.E.D. headlights on cars like they've done in France.
