Entertaining and absorbing.
This is a very good movie for older audiences (senior community). Most of our audience had seen Serpico before, as had I, and it was a big hit on our Thursday Evening Movie Night. Just put in the DVD, pop the popcorn, and turn down the lights.
The gritty background of early 1970's New York City was great, and the acting was really good.

Great bag gloved
These bag gloves have a metal palm insert, giving a nice, crisp pop when hitting the heavy bag.

Fast Pace Based On A True Story
This older movie from Hollywood's golden age has four great stars: Bette Davis, Herbert Marshall, Gayle Sondergaard, and James Stephenson. The pace is very fast without too much time spent on dialogue or character development.
Everyone has heard of two-time Academy Award Winner for Best Actress Bette Davis, but did you know that Herbert Marshall used an artificial lower leg after losing it in World War I? Performances by Sondergaard as the deceased's wife is great, as is the absorbing portrayal of the defense attorney by Stephenson. Check out that older model table fan in the background of the attorney's office. You can almost feel the plantation's humidity and Spanish Moss in the Malaysian colony.
This movie is loosely based on a story by Somerset Maugham which was in turn inspired by the murder of a man by a school master's wife, who was eventually pardoned.
