Sensible Replacement
I've been using these brushes for a number of years. They are superb, but sadly have a limited life - 1 to 3 years in my experience before they fail, or the battery stops taking charge (this is my 4th unit).
Since it's the electronic part that fails, i.e. the handle, it makes sense to replace just this, rather than buying the entire product again, with its numerous and costly high-end accessories. I like the product so much, that I put up with its limited durability - and in any case the annualized cost is very minor compared to the high cost of dental work.
So if your Sonicare is having problems, I recommend that you buy a replacement handle for it.

Best shaver ever
I switched to the Braun after being a long-term (decades!) user of Philips rotary shavers. Having now been using the Braun for two weeks, I wish I had made the change earlier. Its shave really approaches that of a wet shave with a razor. I have 'difficult' sections of my face where hairs grow at a shallow angle to my skin. The Braun removes them with ease.
My very early experience with single foil shavers was poor, because they could never deal with these low-angle hairs. But the Braun has a couple of special slots (in addition to its two foils) designed specifically to cope with such problem hairs. I'm stunned how well they work. German engineering at its finest.
Ergonomics are perfect, and the razor is very comfortable to use, except for the clumsy pop-up trimmer, which is awkwardly placed. But I consider that a non-essential addition to what is a superb shaver.
Consider me a convert to Braun.

Convenient backup for reading glasses
If you wear reading glasses, but sometimes leave them at home (or else occasionally lose them) this ultra-thin credit card size fresnel lens is a great back-up to carry in your wallet. Very highly recommended.
