Easy fix
2 of 2 found this helpful If your Sony Blu-ray starts giving a “Can’t read disk” or similar error when you put a clean factory created disk in to the slot (factory DVDs means those you buy in the store), then replacing the drive is very likely the cure. Take the metal back half of the player off and verify the drive model number. To replace it, lightly pulling the 3 connectors out (write down which side faces out from the circuit board), taking the front plastic bezel off—just be gentle, it’s plastic—two more screws to remove the old drive and then put it back together.
