A Wonderful Book
The author grew up in Georgia. He went to medical school and became an internist. He started writing at age 50. This book is written about a boy growing up in the south. It ends with his high school graduation. I loved this book! I am a Georgia native and I love books written about the south. The next book in this trilogy is The Whisper of the River about his college years, and the last book is When All the World Was Young about WWII. I am looking forward to reading these next 2 books. I can’t add anything that hasn’t already been said in other reviews. Just read it! He is a wonderful storyteller!

Great movie!
I just happened upon this movie several years ago at a video rental store. I watched "Fried Green Tomatoes" again recently and thought of this movie. It's a little gem of a movie. I loved every part of this film!
