My favorite finishing sander
My three stars were for this particular sander. The 330 Speed-Bloc is still my all time favorite random orbit sander. I have more sanders than I have screw drivers. I hate sanding, so I spend a lot of money to minimize the time I spend sanding.
I bought my first PC 330 Speed-Bloc in 1985 and still use it. It's a little ugly, but still works like new. I have replaced the power cord and pad several times, but everything else is original, including the bearing.
I overpaid for this latest sander, considering the condition. The pad was shot, the power cord was frayed and the pad posts and coupling (rubber parts) were stiff, causing the sander to vibrate more that it should. So I had to replace those parts, which added another $50 to the cost of this sander. But since this sander is no longer made and none of the competitors' offerings work as well as this one, I am content with my purchase. No slight to the seller. I paid the high price because I wanted a back up.
