Brilliant
Love this book! Totally bonkers plotline about talking detective cats, but utterly charming and compelling, true escapism. References to Cornwall and food always put me in a good mood and this book is packed full of both.

Cheap but does the job, not silent
It's ok, it works. However the 'silent sweep' is definitely not silent, instead you hear about eight tiny ticks per second, they are quiet but they're still audible and a bit annoying in the silence of the night. Quality wise it's feels cheap and flimsy, the kind of thing you'd expect to find in a pound shop, certainly not worth £10. However it appears to keep time (I've had it two weeks) and the alarm and light work, so might as well keep it as it does the job.
