Very well engineered, silent adjustment - fits Selmer and Buffet!
1 of 1 found this helpful This barrel has a deep enough lower receiver that it works on both Buffet (18mm) and Selmer (19mm) upper tenons. After picking up a large chamber clarinet piece for some Big Band Jazz work I was looking for something to replace my older clicky adjustable barrel which I was concerned was wearing out after the over two decades I've used it.
This is made out of metal which is probably not going to present the warmest sound you could get (not a problem for my use case) and it appears to be very solidly built and the fact that it is dead silent when adjusting it is a huge plus. It also will not go out of adjustment by accidentally bumping it like the clicky kind can, it simply won't change unless you purposely rotate the tuning ring.
The ring itself is the only part that rotates, the bottom and top receiver are fixed in place so this also does not rotate your mouthpiece at all if you adjust the ring in the center.
I would confidently use this for indoor or outdoor work
