good entry unit
0 of 2 found this helpful these are good to have an extra HT or for light commercial use. Work good, but does have considerable issue in noisy rf environments (Apartments/ dorms with WIFI) the body of these radios is quite sufficient However I do wish they would use some more traits from Motorola and Kenwood, It is is to easy to bump the PTT because it protrudes from the body and is so small that you don't have any where else to grab. The emergency alarm is more a nuisance than any thing. The screen is not recessed so it is easy to scratch if you get on the cement or in a tight space's I have broken a few belt clips loading trucks, they bend if you hit them good. or brake if something catches it. Don't by the oem speaker mics, the springs are not heavy enough to hold to collars or button strips. it does have a few operational quirks but not a big deal. These are a good unit for Personal/ office use but are likely to fail in an active occupation. Far better than the uv3/5 If they made them the size and style of a Motorola it would be what a portion of the market needs affordable Industrial + Amature use
