Excellent value, easy to use

Excellent value tester. It allows more current to flow than a standard multimeter, so is better for weeding out declining batteries that can only give brief spurts at decent power. One limitation is that it's fiddly to test most button batteries with it, while taking care not to short-circuit. This should be done with the negative pole facing upward (see picture), and is more easily done using a multimeter on a table top. Also with certain designs of batteries especially in size D, you need to take care that this tester's negative probe has made contact.
