ChromaCast Bass Guitar 6-Pocket Padded Gig Bag Fits Most Electric Bass Guitars
24 Dec, 2016
Nice medium weight gig bag with tone of pockets
This is a nicely made medium weight gig bag, easily fits my five string fender jazz, and Spector. Zippers are well done, and there are tons of pockets to carry gig essential items. Stitching looks good, and the canvas covering looks to be strong enough to resist water, punctures and scrapes. The padding in thin to medium weight, and this bag is best used covering around the house, or gigging from car to gig. I wouldn't put this in a trailer where something could fall on it, or fly with in, as it would never hold up to the hold, but then I'd never fly with a gig bag anyway. For under 20.00 you can't beat it, and with padded shoulder straps, and a vertical grab handle on the front (this is a very handy grab point) it's a no brainer to buy
(4) Gotoh 3/8" Nickel Bass Body/String Ferrules AP-0287-001

Great quality and finish
The pieces are well built, and the nickel finish is well suited for the vintage build I'm using these for. They fit .45-.100 gauge bass strings without issue and seem solid enough for years of use. Not a glamorous part, but the first step and anchor for sustain and resonance, so it is as important as any part on the bass.
Relic AGED BLACK 1960's PRECISION BASS SCRATCH PLATE Pickguard Fender P Bass

A reasonably done relic job
I have no real complaints regarding this pickguard, the fit is good and there is noticeable wear, but for the price I feel it could have had more attention spent on it. I have an actual late 60's pickguard on another bass, which is what I'm basing my review on. While I don't expect this to be an exact copy, certain areas should have had more time spent to become more genuine. The discoloration and uneven beveling was done well, and for the most part spot on. My biggest issue was the uniform light sanding across the entire guard, without any nicks or dents, swirling around the control knobs, or any different pattern of wear under the g string area, such as a bass that has been slapped, nor any light pick marks in the areas that normally would show. There is often more of a polished or rounded edges in areas of heavy wear, around the lower horn and dents or chips around the output plug. I won't go into the shrinking of celluloid guards, as this isn't that flavor. This is nitpicking to a certain degree, but with a little more work involved it would have really nailed the look. At close to 70.00 US dollars, I expected more hand detailing. I'm not talking about a heavy relic job, but a bass built in the 60's and played for many years will show the average wear I'm talking about. For 20 dollars less, this would have been a great deal.
