It's a book all 2nd/3rd generation immigrants should read.
I liked this book, its an easy read. It's not written that well, but the story is captured brilliantly and demonstrates the identity crisis 2nd generation immigrants have between preserving their parent's culture/roots and that of assimilating into a new culture and society - one which back in the seventies, did not always readily want them!
I was recommended the book by a friend who knew I'd grown up in Luton, and being a 2nd generation Indian, it was something that appealed to me instantly.
Sarfraz clearly writes from the heart and has transformed his life from what could have so easily been a well trodden path of following parents wishes. Its always a struggle to break from ones parents, more so when great things are expected from the parents who left their homelands behind.
I can rightly say that I could empathise with Sarfraz on many counts - it's a good book for all 2nd/3rd generation immigrants to read. It really makes me proud to say I am British, sure I consider myself lucky that I have cousins, uncles and aunties living in other countries and that I can identify with other cultures, much as Sarfraz does, but I'm so proud that Britain is this great multi-cultural society that accepts and highlights the best from all cultures.

Great professional clippers, used by barbers!
Professionally built and easy to use clippers. Mine has 8 sets of differing comb lengths to attach. The motor feels powerful and robust, I think it will give many years of service if oiled and cleaned.
