Ageist not remotely funny. Disrespectful to older people. A lightweight book not worth reading.
0 of 2 found this helpful I read this book with my granddaughter and quite frankly I considered the stereotype of a Granny as ageist and very disrespectful. How the author feels it appropriate to disrespect the elder generation like this is beyond belief.
It is not surprising that our younger generation are out of touch with their grandparents. I did not find the book remotely funny and it has now gone in the charity shop bag. No doubt some other old Granny with and I quote with "thick glasses,white hair, false teeth, a hearing aid and a hairy chin who smells of cabbage" can now read it.
A lot can be learned from the Asian culture where their elders are valued and treated with respect.
