HM-36 microphone for ICOM 8pin
1 of 1 found this helpful There are some issues needed to fix so it can work properly.
If you think that the mic is quiet, open the mic and see..the mic is placed on wrong place. In this place there are no holes, so you are talking to plastic, not into mic. Solution is very easy, pull the mic out and take it down where the bars are open(have holes thru the plastic) and thats all. The mic is loud and sharp, I tested it on many of my Icom rigs.
In some cases(depends on the Icom model) the mic is silent when transmitting, just no modulation. Solution is very easy too. In some models the mic ground is common with ptt ground. This microphone uses separate ground wiring for mic and for ptt. So open the mic and just solder the mic ground wire into pin where is ptt ground. Thats all.
Also in some rare cases, you can hear some very quit humming in modulation. Thats because the microphone cord has no ground braiding of the mic wire. This cord is just 8 plain wires.
Anyway, FOR THAT PRICE IS EXCELLENT AND AFTER SOME MODIFICATION DOES A GREAT JOB.

Aiwa HS-PC202mkIII
It is one of the best walkmans. Belt change is extremely easy. The only big issue with these Aiwas are their capacitors. They need to be changed. Due no age they are gone. After recap it is great walkman. Nice piece of electronic art anyway.

Noname korean cassettes

But I was very nicely surprised, because the tape is quite good sound quality, and the case is very good too!! For that price it is really EXCELLENT. This is really the best of all noname cassettes made nowadays. I believe that it is made using old SKC forms from 80's. Good job for that price.
