Perfect for apartment dwellers.
This grill performed better than I expected! i've had it a couple of days and have used it twice on chicken, pork chops and veggies. Chicken took longer than what it said on the manual. it took about 45 minutes to cook a chicken leg but the pork chops and veggies were pretty spot on. they were seared and throughly cooked. its hard to mess this up because there only 3 settings; off, on, low. I suggest to pre-heat for that sizzle!
I bought this because I live in an apartment building I wanted to be able to grill on my patio without freaking out the neighbors with the smoke. it worked out great! it's not completely smoke free but minimal enough to not set off your smoke detectors provided you set it up under a range hood or ventilate your place.
cleaning the grill and drip tray was easy. the inside of the grill gets stained. Is it worth the price when i could've gotten george forman? yes it is. the infrared heat source replicates hot coal or direct fire whereas other indoor grills are like "grilling" on a cast iron griddle.
compact? No if you compare it to other indoor grills and yes comparing it to a standard grill
