Affordable entry multipurpose NAS
Good entry NAS, compatible with DSM 7, compact, quiet, very efficient and "at least" capable to perform most of the regular media/server activities (Notice that Synology describes it as a High Performance NAS)
A bit expensive when it was released but more affordable now that new DS423+ is on sale with nearly the same features.

Impressive performance
2 of 2 found this helpful Comparing with similar solutions like i5-7600K, the R5-1600 has a similar performance even working at a lower speed (R5 at 3.2-3.6 GHz vs i5 at 3.8-4.2 GHz), is cheaper, has lower TDP (it's stock cooler is enough for working) and has more cores/threads for virtualisation... it's just what I need.
