Great lens for a great price - and it is f/1.4!
However I just started to use this lens, immediately seems a greatly built item. The first autofocus tests looks promising as well. During continous autofocus you can hear the autofocus motor a little, but nothing serious.
I think, the price and quality ratio is unbeatable. If you are on budget, and want an f/1.4 lens, I wouldn't search for anything else.

A must have lens for portraits and more
2 of 3 found this helpful I have a standard zoom lens with bad standard apertures (3.5-5.6), so I needed a lens producing more backround blur for portraits, close up shots about flowers, bugs around 50-80mm focal length, so this 50mm (equivalent 75mm) looked for the best choice for me. It is cheaper, then the 35mm (equivalent 52,5mm), and also gives a better focal lenght to my taste.
The image stabilisation is a fantastic feature, a lot of 50mm lenses do not have it. In low light situations you can spare 3-4 ISO steps, which means a great amount of sparing noise on your pictures!
So it is a small, light, having great image quality, images stabilisation and 1.8 maximum aparture.
It is absolutely recommended to have one of these, if you want more exciting and more professional looking pictures.

Looks like it is an absolutely stunning camera and lens
I've just got this camera-lens kit, so I did only some picture quality tests, and the results are shocking - sharpness from corner to corner already in case of the widest apertures!
I'm furius to test the camera in life situations, but based on the tests and my first impressions, this camera will not let me down.
Absolutely recommended for travels, and you can leave your full-frame camera with heavy lenses, if you have it as I do.
