Very good 2 CD of Chris Barber band members and guest American jazz clarinetist's.

Very good value double cd of Chris Barber bands from 1960 ,1962,1968 and 1974 with guest American clarinet jazz players. There are 20 tracks from Edmond Hall, 9 from Albert Nicholas and 4 from Joe Darenbourg. Some are live and others are studio. The sound is very good and well remastered. This is a Lake Records product with good liner notes and also a list of other Chris Barber cd's on Lake. Great playing from the guests and band members! CD 1 is 75 mins, CD 2 is 77 mins.

Great trad jazz

Nothing bad to say; I bought this as Vol 1 was great and Vol 2 is probably better. Great musicianship, every soloist is a master of their instrument. Watch them play 'At the Jazz band Ball ' on Youtube for proof!

One of jazz clarinets greatest players.

A very good overview of Barney Bigard's clarinet playing with various bands and combos .His fantastic ability is obvious with other big names from jazz recorded from 1929, thirties, and 1940's. Good liner notes with recording dates and personnel . Sound quality is very good also. 75 mins running time.
