Weird and engaging rather than entertaining
1 of 1 found this helpful Poor (financially and artistically) painter meets beautiful ghost, falls in love and creates a masterpiece but, of course, gains nothing from it. The lead actors are magnificent, the story is ludicrous but attractive in the appropriate ethereal way. Many of the great forties films still stand up in the 21st century and this one nearly makes it. Worth a watch but don't spend a fortune on it!

Atrocious!
Incredibly I saw this rated as one of the top ten TV Box Sets so bought it cheap. Always knew Americans had little taste but this is so bad I can't see how they thought it funny. Have perhaps 5 of the other 9 and they are pretty good!
