Correct pump for alpha CB28 boiler
Fitting this pump made a huge difference to the performance of our central heating system. Note that there are several variants of the Grundfos 15/60 pump. For the Alpha CB28 you need P/N 59896530 with a consumption of 0.49A / 110W at position III There are other less expensive pumps listed on ebay being sold as pumps for the CB28 boiler but these have a lower power rating and deliver less pressure. I found that an incorrect pump had been fitted to our boiler which had a narrower impeller. Fitting the correct pump significantly improved the flow through the radiators and now we have a nice warm house. It was easy to fit. Just be careful not to let water get into the control PCB when you remove the old pump.
