An Average Movie But A Great Piece Of Escapism
'Into the Blue' is a film us ordinary Brits crave right now. A film based on the exotic locations of the Bahamas seem a distant vision from a chilly Britain. The film features acting from Paul Walker, Jessica Alba and Josh Brolin. It follows the journey of four independent treasure hunting divers attempting to find a gold mine of a ship before the cooperate 'bad' guys get to it first. Along the way however, our divers discover a sunken plane carrying hundreds of millions of dollars worth of cocaine. This is the stage of the movie where the bad guys become increasingly involved in our divers affairs. In a matter of life or death which will they choose? money or love?. The movie itself is a distinctively average one, featuring Paul Walker and Jessica Alba who both fail to impress on the acting front. However, in my view this film is about much more than Hollywood acting. The film promotes an idealistic life of living in an exotic Country, working as a treasure hunter in a life of spontaneity. What more could you want to see? two dazzlingly beautiful people in an equally impressive Country taking life easy. If only our lives back home were this simple. This film is well worth a watch to remind us just how impressively beautiful parts of this planet are. It offers an important piece of escapism from our mundane 9-5 lives back here in the UK and is sure to create that sense of 'I wish I was there'.
