Scholarship excellent, graphics unacceptable.
Excellent text and tables but essential graphics - especially pie-charts shoddily printed and illegible. NOT a good advertisement for the University of Virginian press.

Careless and defective reprint.
This is presented as a reprint of a still much sought after and used antiquarian documentary source for West Indian history, originally published as a series of six volumes. This reprint edition has the brass face to omit the first forty pages altogether and may not be complete at the other end. If you need it for research purposes look elsewhere.
