Gem of a lens
3 of 3 found this helpful This is about the most useful prime lens Nikon make. It behaves like a 35mm on a DX body and is sharp as hell. On a FX body it's a really useful wide lens. The best thing about the Nikon primes as opposed to their zooms is that everything about the primes are tailored for the exact focal length of the lens. The fourteen point sunstars are amazing, and the out of focus highlights are really natural.. A great buy at any price. Every pro has one.

Versatile and strong
1 of 1 found this helpful I wasn't expecting too much from this machine, but it has exceeded all my expectaions. There are minor annoyances such as the unusual shape of the opening, but it's clear that this is for safety reasons. Overall I have used it for trees, ivy and general larger weeds and it has coped admirably. I did manage to jam it once with a large, dry, plum branch, but in general, as long as the branch you are inserting is relatively straight, it will crush anything up to its advertised size. The box is large, enough for a good couple of hours of shredding, and if you keep the blade tightened it will cope very well with anything except green slimy weeds such as alcanet. But then I suppose shredding those is a little pointless anyway. Ideal for brambles, dog rose, ivy, elder and plum saplings etc. Altogether a very impressive machine. And yes, it is quiet...
