Seiko Analog Sport Watch Prospex Turtle Automatic Diver's Black Mens SRP779J1
    09 Oct, 2017
    Sublime quality.
Having been a bit of a Horologist for a long time I fancied buying one of these after reading and watching reviews on You tube (Check out Urban Watch Gentry on you tube). There are two variants of this watch, the K model and the J model (K made in Malaysia, J made in Japan) Generally the J variant is considered the best with slightly better quality finish. Having a 'Cushion' case is a nice look and sits nicely on the wrist and the quality is sublime and up there with anything Tissot make. I Purchased a nice Orange Zuludiver nato strap for this watch but I was really really surprised a how lovely the rubber strap feels - it's really soft! I did put the Orange nato strap on as that looks great. An absolute bargain!
Kaweco AL Sport fountain pen, raw, high gloss finish Pen Nib: F (fine)

    Sublime quality.
In an age of emails and Microsoft word etc. We are slowly losing the art of penmanship so a few years ago I thought I'd make a stand. This is one of three Kaweco fountain pens I own the others being a plastic sport model (for work) and a beautiful Kaweco Liliput in Brass (small and beautiful). The AL sport is lightweight and beautifully finished in highly polished Auminium, one thing you must be aware of is that the beautiful finish isn't going to last long as even the act of posting the cap on the back of the pen will put tiny scratches and scuff marks on the barrel as will placing the pen in a handbag, pocket with anything else will or even in a desk draw. Fountain pens tend to write with much broader strokes than ballpoint pens so I would recommend going for a fine nib especially if like me your handwriting is a little untidy or if your script is a little small. The secret with writing with a fountain pen (if you are new to them - that is) is just to let the nib lightly touch the paper and use no pressure. I found that the pen wrote beautifully from the start with no breaking in needed. I use Kaweco ink in royal blue (lovely) and can be bought cheaply of Ebay or Amazon in mulitple boxes of 6 quite cheaply, I have also bought a bottle of Kaweco ink and a Kaweco cartridge adaptor, although I cannot recommend the Sport adaptor as you can only fill it by about a 1/3rd and is very very messy to do so. As you can probably tell by this long review, I really like this fountain pen and thoroughly recommend it. John
    Hotpoint HUI612P 60cm Induction D/Oven Cooker PICK UP TELFORD RRP £513! #191865

Induction heating - It's the future..
Having cooked with both Gas and Electric (ceramic hob) I have to say that Induction offers the benefits of both and non of the drawbacks. If you have never cooked with induction hobs, the one thing you REALLY REALLY need to be aware of (and I've seen a few reviews off people complaining they did not now this) is that all pans etc must must be ferrous based - that is have iron in it's base such as some stainless steels and all cast iron and carbon steel pans. You can buy some aluminium pans with steel bases that are great. The built in safety features of this cooker take a bit of getting used to, so reading the instruction booklet is essential and keep it handy for the first few times you use it otherwise it'll baffle you - stick with it, it's worth it! The main oven cooks beautifully and always in recipe guidlines (time - temperature etc). Be aware that the top oven is a little confusing at first as it automatically operates as a grill when the door is open and as an oven when the door is closed. The grill pan is basic and works perfectly as one with a metal hook on handle that will never let you down unlike my old one which had the handle break as it was over engineered. I got mine for the bargain price of £132 as a transit damaged item with a small dent in the side although brand new and fully manufacturer warrantied. Highly recommended appliance.
