No frills, does the job
Our thermostat was directly above a radiator; I wanted to put it somewhere more sensible withno, or minimal, re-wiring. The RT300 is a simple replacement thermostat, which sets a temperature but has no extra features such as timers etc - we have a heating programmer box that does all that. So all that's needed is to remove existing thermostat, wire in the receiver unit in its place, and place the remote thermostat wherever you wish. It seems to work pretty well. The receiver needs a constatnt power supply, not discontinued when the programmer switches off; otherwise it will wait up to 10 minutes to receive a repeat signal from the thermostat. Achieving this constant power required some simple reconnections in the airing cupboard, which in turn needed a basic understanding of how electrics and heating control systems work - I knew enough to do this with no problems.

Stops the roof rattling
It does the job of stopping cheap corrugated roofing from rattling on a poultry house. It didn't seem to fit exactly - I had to stretch it slightly so that the shape matched the corrugations on the roof. As a result there may be a few small gaps that draughts and/or rain could get through. (This didn't matter to me as the house has open sides anyway.)

Does the job
It works, and it fits. (As I found out, although some dimensions are standard, others are not. So if you are replacing a GU lock of this type, this one will fit, and others won't.) Seems well made, but only time will tell. Backset is confusing; it is actually 28mm from the front of the gearbox, but it is sold as 30mm because the locking strip has a 2mm additional offset. If you have this type of lock, you should be able to see what I mean. If you don't, then you won't be interested anyway!
