The 14x8 Is All I Hoped it Would Be!
This is an excellent snare for the money. The alternating plies of Birch and African Mahogany are a perfect match. It is very sensitive and can deliver a walloping back beat, depending on head selection and how it is tuned. The craftsmanship and quality are excellent, for a mass produced snare, and I am very happy with this purchase. I have many snare drums, and I am not a big fan of Pearl, but this one has me very impressed! Truly an underrated modern snare, which makes it an excellent value, for those in the know. This is my first 8” depth snare and I am impressed with the tuning range and sensitivity.

Drum Seeker best value for your money!
I did a side by side comparison, purchasing 4 snare drum bags from, what I considered the major players on the market, Ahead, Protection Racket, H&B Drum Seeker, and Road Runner. All were comparatively priced. While I liked the Ahead oval shape, to allow room for the drum hardware(snare throw-off, mount, etc.), the Drum Seeker bag is a heavier built, more rigid bag, with a lining very similar to the Ahead and Protection Racket. Zipper seems of good quality, and the overall seams and craftsmanship are top notch. I believe this bag is the best bang for your buck, as it was just a few dollars cheaper than the others. You will not be disappointed with the H&B Drum Seeker bags.
