Worth the Extra

I first purchased a regular buddy, which worked great for 3 years (still functions perfectly). This was the first year though I'd gone out fishing when it was -20 without windchill. I have a portable house and the heater couldn't even keep the ice from forming in my holes (however it did allow me to stay out there when I otherwise couldn't have). I upgraded to the big buddy and have had no problems with it. The fan on there makes a big difference; however, I've not been out with it in sub zero conditions yet, but I have no doubts it will perform the way I need it to. It has been 0 with windchill and I only had it on low with the built in fan and was comfortable; for kicks and giggles I turned it on high for about 5 minutes; that's all it took for me to start sweating bullets. I can't explain how much more heat this unit puts out and I would have never believed it before owning one. If you are going several hours on the ice with less than ideal weather conditions than this is the heater you'll want.

Good Purchase.

I've used the silver for quite some time and enjoyed that; I was looking for something new and I've found it. It's not similar at all, a bit stronger, and it lasts a bit longer. Well worth the money to give it a try; I'll recommend it.
