Long story short, it does work.

Maybe my gutters were extra bad but due to the lack of weight, it will rotate itself upside down - therefore it things forwards is backwards and vise versa. This can be problematic in auto mode as it will just reverse instead of going forwards towards the debris. Overall it is worth getting on sale. I got it mainly to minimize my risk of being on the roof.
