I saw a couple of episodes of this series on the BBC, and couldn't believe it was on the Beeb. It's such a dark, sexy, bizarre, dangerous mix of characters and plot. I missed the final episode and was really excited to see copies for sale on eBay. It's set in Blackpool (one of my favourite places when I was a kid) but it's not the Blackpool I knew and loved, it's the seedy, grasping, tawdry side of human nature that gets displayed here. It's so bizarre in places - for example, Mark Gatiss (of The League of Gentleman) plays a sexually-repressed taxidermist who proudly displays someone's pet cat stuffed and pole-dancing in the window of his shop to Kylie's "Spinning Around" - I loved it! The darkest character is an old lady in a wheelchair who is the spider at the centre of all that's rotten in the town. The only half-normal person in the twisting story is trying to find a lock to fit the key his murdered mother gave to him. In his quest for the missing lock he finds out she wasn't really his mother and each blind alley leads him into all kinds of weird situations. The ending wasn't what I was expecting and the revelations along the way were sometimes a bit socially shocking, but the characters all take it in their stride, which gives the whole thing a comic, unreal feeling. As for the DVD itself, I really like the main menu layout and creepy music. For a comedy series, this really has a dark, foreboding side to it. Right up my street!

Interesting Hidden Items Game
Someone has had a great time creating rooms in a house, completely stuffed with things that have got to be spotted in order to move forward, and sort out another room. It's quite repetitive, but the static graphics are good and made me go back to it several times, but I wouldn't say it was compelling gameplay, as I found it very put-down-able! Don't confuse this game with the "Pull the Pin" type games which are advertised online, it's not that.
