    Epson Premium Semigloss Photo Paper - 50pack, 10x15cm / 4x6 Inch - NEW
    25 Jun, 2023
It is semi-gloss photopaper. End of story!
I have taken to using semi-gloss rather than gloss (although it can be harder to obtain) simply because I prefer the finish. I know it costs more than alternative brands but, because of the use, I am prepared to pay. I have not ranked 'value' as it depends on how much you pay!
Times Killer Su Doku Book 13

200 Killer Su Doku puzzles, what more do you want to know?
Difficult to rate this using the criteria given, I'm hoping the text means more than the ratings. I have previously bought others in the series so I knew exactly what to expect . I have rated it 'better than expected' because there are 200 puzzles, some similar have fewer. Killer Su Doku are not 'very difficult Su Doku' puzzles and, if you are contemplating purchase, I would check out what they are. I much prefer them but some people struggle with them, as can be seen from the cover you are not usually given starting numbers. The first puzzles are described as 'moderate', I would say that they are a little easier than that - I haven't done them but there are obvious ways of getting a few numbers fixed with minimal effort. No. 200 looks tricky with some large cages but not impossible to get started. There are answers. More important, there are cage reference charts, which some books lack (lists of combinations to get to a particular total). There is also a detailed (and, at first glimpse, well-explained) introduction explaining how the puzzle works and describing basic strategies. If you are new to these puzzles, it might be worth buying one in the series, if you like it, buy a second before you get too far in and complete them in parallel, the later puzzles can take over an hour to complete. 'Is the content compelling?' - its a puzzle book, I bought for lockdown IV!
I Don't Live Here Anymore by The War on Drugs (CD, 2021) (A52)
    06 Jun, 2022
A good recording from a great band.
This is my second War on Drugs CD after the live recording ('Live Drugs'). The live recording is definitely better (hence my rating of 'Better than expected' rather than 'Amazing', actually 'Somewhat better than expected' - I had read reviews, largely uncomplimentary, but felt that they won't have dropped off so much from the live tracks). They are a live band - and the live compilation features the best tracks of their previous repertoire (so really a 'best of' with a tendency towards the more upbeat). This recording contains several rather more mellow tracks. The title track is a stand out; the involvement of Lucius adds support to the vocals not evident elsewhere and the female voice could and should be utilised in later recordings. I personally like 'Wasted' in that it moves at pace and is a 'band' recording, which in my eyes is the strength of the band (the drummer is exceptional), I am rather less enthusiastic about some of the 'vocalist and accompaniment' tracks which have a tendency to drift in my opinion. I have this CD for some weeks now and I am glad I waited before reviewing it. It has grown on me somewhat, I would have given it * * * after the first few plays. Maybe in another month it would rank higher. but somehow I doubt it.
