Highly stylised to look like an ESPN production, the game is fun to play.
The last version of this storied franchise I owned was 2008, and the improvements to the game and particularly the presentation of the game have been greatly improved. I have only just begun to play so I am not able to give a detailed review of all the different game modes.....other reviewers will cover that.

Outstanding update to one of EA's best gaming franchises
NHL 18 ìs a great upgrade over NHL 16, and if you have 17 and are on the fence, NIL Three's mode is quite fun and opens up the gameplay on the ice to allow for some truly amazing moves, courtesy of the revamped deking system.
Playing as a goalie in Be A Pro is still difficult, but if you like playing a goalie this year they have increased the number of pads available to wear and customise as well as added in a lot more teams and leagues.
Overall if you like ice hockey, or even know of someone who is a fan, this would be a great game to get.
