This clone is called 'Deathtrap' for a reason
1 of 1 found this helpful This clone failed all safety tests. The peak insulator was split causing the deck to arc. When it was corrected, we found the 510 thread to be too long which caused pre firing, before applying power on two mods it was tested on. The cap is supposed to be a three piece design with air holes top and bottom... This clone is only a two piece design, with air holes at the bottom only. This clone is a dangerous piece of work and could cause serious harm.

It’s a Tonka truck… with a wonky wheel…
You won’t find a better rod for this money. It has a lovely action, soft enough & delicate enough in the tip to set a size 16 hook with a 2BB float, yet a strong enough backbone to bully hard fighting carp out of lilies and reeds. It casts surprisingly well for such a small rod, an under arm flick will give you a distance of approximately 12 feet, a full on overhead swing will double it… which is not bad for the above mentioned rig.
There is however one problem and the reason it loses one star… the reel seat is shocking, it’s the rods only let down. I coupled the rod with a shimano bait runner ST4000FB with 10lb line and they compliment each other perfectly, but whilst battling harder fighting carp, that where lunging back and forth in and out of Lillie pads, the reel seat felt very lose, which had me reaching for the screw ring trying to tighten the reel down. Feeling like you’re reel is about to fall off in the midst of battle is not very confidence inspiring. However, the rod is built to a price that’s exceptionally affordable and that affordability comes at a compromise. I will in all likelihood customise it with a nice cork handle and a fuji reel seat at some point and give that blank the love it truly deserves.
The first time I used it I caught twenty carp in four hours, from 2lb to low doubles, fishing from directly under the rod tip in the margin out to twenty plus feet, using a size 16 hook with a slightly overweight 2BB float (lift method), set at various depths throughout the session. Sweet corn was my bait of choice over chicken feed pellets.
At this price, this stalker is too good to ignore and is definitely worth every penny. You could and probably already have spent twice as much on tackle that’s half as good quality. An excellent addition to any anglers arsenal, whether your a beginner or seasoned angler, you won’t be disappointed.
