Bargain Shavers
These shavers were good value as they appear nearly new (battery life is good) at less than half price.

Great camera with a few niggles.
Actually it's four and a half stars because the real battery problem with this and other Powershot models is that Canon fitted faulty battery voltage sensors which keep switching the camera off even when the battery is fully charged.
The workaround for this is to tape over the sensor terminal, a fiddly and annoying procedure which has to be repeated every time you change the battery because it won't charge without the sensor.
Though it's long out of production, the image quality from this camera is better than its nearest modern equivalent as it packs only 12 megapixels into the same space as the 20 megapixels of the SX-710, so there's less noise. I don't use the long zoom but at normal zoom the lens quality is scarcely believable. In use the only niggle is the small controls; even with average-size hands it's too easy to nudge the wrong one.
All told, this camera does what I bought it for.
