Piece of junk, does not hold safe food temperature
1 of 1 found this helpful When we first got it, we had to crank it to the max setting to keep it under 40 degrees. When the warmer weather kicked in, it would only hold to 45 -- not safe for food. Total piece of garbage. Seller will not return messages now that the month-and-a-half return window is up. Don't buy.

One of Cronenberg's Better Movies
1 of 1 found this helpful It's not as disgusting as "The Fly," nor as disturbing or profound as "Videodrome," but "Dead Ringers" is still nicely cringey, right on the border of a dark drama and "mad scientist" sci-fi.
Cronenberg said that his challenge in this movie was to use twins, not as freaks or in any other gimmicky, typical Hollywood way, but just as regular people. He succeeds handily and sends one of them right over the edge. Also includes some very Cronenberg body horror themes such as mutation.

Better than "Birdman"
While I thought "Birdman" was mean-spirited and depressing, "The Humbling" has a similar plot but, while also tragic, is more hopeful and celebratory of human nature. Worth a look, but don't expect a straight-ahead experience. It will keep you guessing. Great ending and great cast though: Pacino, Gerwig, Weist, Grodin, and others.
