    You can stop searching.
I own 2 E46 sedans. These are the RCRs you're looking for. OEM quality, excellent room for fitment, look great, don't leak, what more could you ask for from plastic BMW parts?

    The tradegy of Carousel One.
To put it bluntly boys and girls, it doesn't get any better than this. Well, let me rephrase that, if you collect 1:48 scale diecast airplanes, it doesn't get any better than this. With opening canopies, pilots, landing gear or doors that attach with magnets, and even rubber antenna and gun barrels, so the chances of accidentally snapping off bits and pieces is minimal, Carousel One were definitely ahead of the curve. It's sad that they are currently a brand in search of an owner, so they are no longer available for retail purchase. If you are looking for a Fw190, this is it. NOBODY else made a Dora 9, let alone the D-11 and D-13 they also produced. These are some of the finest 1:48 scale Fw190s available. My recommendation is buy if you can.

Franklin Mint (aka Armour) makes excellent diecast models. Unlike Hobby Master, the landing gear on Franklin models is made of metal, which adds sufficient strength to support the model. With Hobby Master, you get the option to display with the gear up or down, but often the landing gear included is barely strong enough to support the models weight, and warps the plastic over time. If taken care of, I could see these models lasting a century. There is very little plastic in the construction. One problem is price gouging. On average, unless a highly famous pilot, these models should go for just under $100. Unfortunately, some people online ask for $200-$300. Whether or not the model is worth that much is up to you, but for me personally, that is to expensive. Great product if you get it at the right price for you.
