Control works, but is lacking in several areas ...
1 of 1 found this helpful While the switch worked and fit the mount points on my 2010 Tacoma quite well, there were issues ...
- There is no tech help. Only response I received was "have it professionally installed". If your vehicle is not "pre-wired", and mine was not, you'll need to track down the pins within your ECU connector you need to wire the switch to (in my case, cruise control in, "CRUISE" dash light out, and clutch engagement in).
- The terminals on the provided wiring did not fit the Toyota connectors. No matter how hard I tried, they wouldn't go into the connector shells (and yes, I pulled-out the terminal retainer first). I ended up having to create my own wiring with crimp terminals from Molex
- The horn terminal and wire had to be harvested from the existing factory installed harness behind the airbag/horn assembly and moved to the harness included with this switch. That could have easily been added to the provided harness to make life easier.
If you're capable and have the tools to create the terminated wires, or if you know your vehicle is "pre-wired" (has the wires needed for cruise control as installed at the Toyota assembly plant), this can save you $150-200. If not, consider the kit from Rostra.
