newer version Jam heavy metal solves some bug
In the newer version. The volume of voice prompt is being reduced. The bass will not be fuzzy even at low volume. I am happy to see that jam is improving there speaker's software However, the speaker is several grams lighter than its older version(plastic package version) and there are about 5Hz missing in the low end of bass. Also the full volume is not as loud as the previous version. Given the price and the bug fixing. It is overall better for me.

The speaker is generally better then bose soundlink mini 1. Jam heavy metal have the same amount of bass as bose soundlink mini, but it goes deeper. Bose stop its bass rapidly at 65Hz, Jam can produce bass down to 55Hz. 2. Jam do not limit its bass even if you turn up the volume. Bose will limit the bass when you turn up the volume. Jam got more power then Bose soundlink mini 20W Vs 15W. The driver in jam has a huge strong magnet and big voice coil 3. The jam does have more background noise than the bose. 4. The jam is made in 2020. The bose is made before 2015. Technology changes significant but bose soundlink mini does not evolve with time. 5. Jam and Bose both use tpa3118 amplifier with charge pump to boost the voltage. They both got bass boost dsp boosting the bass for more than 10db. Bose has a dynamic compressor to protect its driver from clipping. Jam does not, this means that your jam speaker may damage if you play too loud with too much bass. You will hear the driver buttoning up.
