Love My Highlander
4 of 4 found this helpful After seven years with a KIA sportage at avg 21 MPG and several minor problems (nothing major), I decided to go back to a Toyota, the most reliable make I have ever owned, as many of my friends agree. I also wanted a hybrid, both for better mileage and reduced emissions. Since I live in the country up a dirt road, I wanted to stick with an SUV. Through Ebay I was able to get an excellent deal on a 2006 Hybrid Highlander Limited. This is an incredibly luxurious, comfortable, powerful and smooth riding vehicle. It is much larger than my old sportage, but I have been averaging better than 26 MPG, mostly highway driving. Of course so much depends on the condition of the vehicle to begin with and this was in excellent shape. Probably the hardest thing to get used to is how quiet it is, silent, really, in electric mode. No engine start up noise. I highly recommend this SUV.
